The turfgrass plots are planted with 25 different grass species, mixes, and cultivars. Both cool- and warm-season grasses are represented in the plots. The majority of grasses are meant for full sun or part-sun exposures. However, the fine fescues do well in shaded locations. Many different leaf widths are apparent from fine to very coarse textures. Weedy grasses are also planted to demonstrate their poor qualities. Several plots are planted with pollinator mixes that incorporate low-growing flowers to nourish bees and butterflies.
