Darwin Perennials, a division of Ball Horticultural Company, has been sending perennials to the NDSU Horticulture and Demonstration Gardens since 2015 to evaluate their cold hardiness. Echinacea, Veronica, Sedum, Aquilegia, and Salvia are some of the genera that have been tested.
